Meet The Founder •
Hello everyone! My name is Jodi. I'm thrilled to take this opportunity to share with you my journey and the story behind Balance2Us, a project that's not just a business for me but a personal mission to transform how we think about play, inclusivity, and community.
I've been passionate about inclusivity since I was young, influenced by personal experiences that showed me how important it is for everyone to have equal opportunities for joy and engagement. As I grew up, I saw friends and family members with disabilities who were often left out of recreational activities, limiting their fun and their ability to fully participate in our community.
As I progressed in my career, working in healthcare, education, and community service, I envisioned a place where everyone could belong, regardless of ability. Each role taught me more about the gaps in our societal structures, especially in recreation and leisure.
The Inspiration Behind Balance2Us
The concept of Balance2Us was born from a combination of these lifelong observations and a critical understanding of the lack of accessible recreational spaces. I realized that while many places claim to be 'accessible,' few truly consider the varied needs of individuals with disabilities, from physical to sensory and cognitive challenges.
Balance2Us is my answer to this oversight. It's a vision to create a recreational facility that is inclusive not just in name but in action. Our mission is to build spaces that provide exceptional support where children and adults with disabilities can play, learn, and grow with others without barriers.
Our Goals
With Balance2Us, we aim to provide a safe, engaging, and genuinely inclusive environment. Our facilities will feature adaptable equipment, sensory-friendly areas, and designs that consider various disabilities to promote sensory development. More than just a play space, Balance2Us will be a community hub, fostering connections and understanding among all people.
